CNR J-4 Pacific

In 1920 Montreal Locomotive Works built 20 Pacifics for the Canadian Northern Railway,  that passed to the CNR. These spiffy steamers sported 69" drivers, had 38,000# TE and a boiler pressure of 200#.   All were assigned to the Western region and most lasted till the end of steam.

This Van Hobbies model has lots of nice detail. The only flaw is some tarnish on the tender that is easily removed.   The mechanism has been rebuilt with a can motor, flywheel and torque arm. It runs very well.  I purchased this engine new. It is unpainted, test run only.

Original box and foam.
